Basketball contest

Something is wrong when a famous fast food restaurant closest to NC State University puts up a billboard promoting only the UNC-Duke game on the same night as a key Wolfpack game. That’s what I was thinking when driving to work this morning on Western Boulevard. I know the Blue Devils-Tar Heels match-up is huge but State has a big home game tonight against Wake Forest.

Well, anyway, it is that crazy time of year in ACC men’s basketball. I’ve got three prizes to hand out this week.

Predict the final score of the UNC-Duke game tonight. The closest guesser gets the prize.

Predict the final score of the NC State-Wake Forest game. The same rules apply.

Describe your rituals on the day of “the big game.” The most one unusual wins.

I spoke with CBS basketball analyst Seth Davis on air this morning and he predicts an eight point win for UNC. But he also predicts a letdown over the weekend. Seth believes the Heels will lose at Miami Sunday night. Seth is a 1992 Duke graduate. That was a championship year for Duke basketball. Will the Blue Devils add another banner this season? Well, we should begin to get some answers tonight. I predict a double overtime Carolina win at the buzzer 95 to 94. What is your prediction?

Winners will receive a copy of one of my CDs. Maybe next year I can come up with a better prize like an autographed basketball or something.

Mr. Leslie, I'm not sure which place you are talking about, but if it was a place that would be trying to draw in viewers to watch basketball games, there would be a very good reason for promoting the Duke/UNC game over the NCSU/Wake game: it was the only one on tv!

Go State!

well, I sure messed that one up, but it looks like I'm in good company

UNC 83 Duke 78

NCSU--77 WFU--74

Go Pack!

UNC 92 DUKE 83 NCSU 79 WAKE 92

My only ritual on the day(s) of the BIG GAME is that my husband HAS to watch the game anywhere besides home!!!We are both DUKE fans, but he is much more compteitive and is a little too vocal during the game!!!I really hope DUKE wins, but I'd also like to win the contest!!

UNC 94, DUKE 87 NC STATE 76 WAKE FOREST 89

UNC-89 Duke-80 WFU-84 NCSU 69

UNC 90, Duke 85 State 75, Wake Forest 70 Any given day any ACC team can beat any other one; Basketball is just that good in this part of the country! Not originally from here, and I love the rivalries.

Duke 95 UNC 92 and NCSU 76 WFU 84

Even though it's hard to say State will lose being a huge State fan that I am but I don't see the Wolfpack pulling it out tonight but it would be nice if they do!!! :) GO PACK!

Duke 88 UNC 85 W.F. 85 NCSU 72 Go Blue Devils!!!

UNC 85 DUKE 89

NCSU 65 WAKE FOREST 76
