Something is wrong when a famous fast food restaurant closest to NC State University puts up a billboard promoting only the UNC-Duke game on the same night as a key Wolfpack game. That’s what I was thinking when driving to work this morning on Western Boulevard. I know the Blue Devils-Tar Heels match-up is huge but State has a big home game tonight against Wake Forest.
Well, anyway, it is that crazy time of year in ACC men’s basketball. I’ve got three prizes to hand out this week.
Predict the final score of the UNC-Duke game tonight. The closest guesser gets the prize.
Predict the final score of the NC State-Wake Forest game. The same rules apply.
Describe your rituals on the day of “the big game.” The most one unusual wins.
I spoke with CBS basketball analyst Seth Davis on air this morning and he predicts an eight point win for UNC. But he also predicts a letdown over the weekend. Seth believes the Heels will lose at Miami Sunday night. Seth is a 1992 Duke graduate. That was a championship year for Duke basketball. Will the Blue Devils add another banner this season? Well, we should begin to get some answers tonight. I predict a double overtime Carolina win at the buzzer 95 to 94. What is your prediction?
Winners will receive a copy of one of my CDs. Maybe next year I can come up with a better prize like an autographed basketball or something.
