What’s your favorite new restaurant? Once again we have an appetite for your opinion today. Please fill our plate.
Mild mannered meteorologist Mike Maze came into the station early last week raving about a new restaurant in Cary at Tryon Road and Walnut Street. He said the YoHo Asian Bistro had the best Chinese fare he had ever eaten. Mike is not one to engage in hyperbole so I quizzed him on his glowing assessment. He said the flavor of each ingredient at YoHo “exploded off the plate.” A typical complaint of Chinese food is that “it can all start to taste the same.” Mike said Yo Ho avoided this “broad brush flavor” problem and that each vegetable and meat featured in the recipes had a distinct personality.
Cindy and I decided to give YoHo a try for lunch Saturday. It was wonderful. I tried the Kong Pao Chicken for $6.50 while Cindy had a shrimp special. I liked the option of whole grain brown rice. Mike was on target about the flavors. I savored each bite and can’t wait to go back. I liked the serving sizes – not too much. Just right. Great spring rolls. . Cindy said she would prefer a little more “umph” to her Wonton soup but other than that we were delighted. I like YoHo’s slogan: Where Gastronomy and Good Times Come Together. There is also a YoHo location in Apex but I haven't tried that one yet.
What new restaurant has tantalized your taste buds recently?

There is also a great Suchi place on Glenwood in the Harris Teeter shopping center near Glenwood and Oberlin.....called Hari Sushi. Good food and larger than normal portions of sushi.

Hey brian, you'll be sad to know that he shut down recently. Being the only cook while you're going through some serious family issues kinda makes it hard to run a successful business. Sad to see that place go though. right good food.
