Kayaking by Moonlight

Kayaking by Moonlight
How would you like to go kayaking by moonlight? Any interest? Well, I recently invested in a top-of-the-line kayak car rack so I’m thinking this might be right up my alley.

Destination: Uwharrie National Forest south of Asheboro. A company called Uwharrie Tours has six kayak by moonlight tours scheduled for this year including one coming up weekend after next. The package includes a night’s lodging at a bed & breakfast, s’mores by campfire and the opportunity to view bald eagles and blue herons.

Laurie Weaver of NC Signature Magazine said “everything I have ever experienced kayaking in the daytime was now accentuated at night.” She said the water seemed calmer and her paddles cut through the water like melted butter.

Sounds like fun to me. Unless you’re Elizabeth Gardner who prefers the adrenaline of whitewater.
