Bill LeslieBill Leslie's Carolina Conversations
People are always asking me where to take vacation. What's a cool place? What's the most scenic drive? Carolina Conversations attempts to answer those questions and others.

Friendly Finalists

“Come as strangers. Leave as friends.” Many thanks to Mom V for the quote of the day on our Carolina Conversations blog. Three dozen communities were nominated as North Carolina’s Friendliest Town.

Towns receiving more than one vote move into the final round. Currently, Roxboro leads with four points followed by three points each for Kenly, Topsail Beach, Banner Elk and West Jefferson.

Please vote for one of the following. Tomorrow, we will declare the Friendliest Town in North Carolina.

1. Roxboro
2. Kenly
3. Topsail Beach/Surf City
4. Banner Elk
5. West Jefferson
6. Carrboro
7. Oxford
8. Elizabethtown
9. Beaufort
10. Broadway

The votes are going to be close. This is a great idea! I've got some places I want to go visit this summer, that's for sure!

#6 Carrboro!

Well, since Carolina Beach did not make the list I will pick my second favorite place.....banner Elk Baby!!!!

Roxboro/Person County!

I vote for Broadway!

Hi Bill... We love West Jefferson!! Mom and Dad used to go there also!! the town and Cheese factory and Shatley Springs!! great.. but I can't believe that Morganton didn't make the list!!

E-town...my hometown.

I'm going to have to go with my home town of TOPSAIL BEACH! Once again...

West Jefferson, by all means, especially if that includes eating at Shatley Springs!

Definitely Beaufort!
