Super Bowl - Tar Heel Taste

Calling all sports fans! I need your help. I am trying to compile a complete list of North Carolinians who have played or coached in the Super Bowl.
The list should include any Super Bowler who played football at a NC college or grew up in the Tar Heel state.

Please ask your sports friends to help with this. WRAL staffer Jeff Reeves helped me compile an incomplete list. There are many more.

We will begin with four players who played in Sunday’s game:

Madison Hedgecock (UNC) - New York Giants
Fred Robbins (Wake Forest) - New York Giants
Guy Whimper (ECU) – New York Giants
Ben Watson (Duke) – New England Patriots

Here is a partial list from previous Super Bowls

Julius Peppers (UNC) – Carolina Panthers
Sean Locklear (NCSU) – Seattle Seahawks
Jeff Reed (UNC) – Pittsburgh Steelers
Willie Parker (UNC) – Pittsburgh Steelers
Bill Cowher (NCSU) – Pittsburgh Steelers
Torry Holt (NCSU) – St. Louis Rams
Brad Hoover (WCU) – Carolina Panthers
Ricky Proehl (Wake Forest) – Carolina Panthers
Jeff Saturday (UNC) – Indianapolis Colts
Kevin Donnalley (UNC) – Carolina Panthers
Joe Gibbs (born in Mocksville) – Washington Redskins
Brad Johnson (from Black Mountain) – Tampa Bay Bucs
Dexter Reid (UNC) – New England Patriots
