People are always asking me where to take vacation. What's a cool place? What's the most scenic drive? Carolina Conversations attempts to answer those questions and others.

Beauty in the Blue Ridge Mountains

I need your help on another slogan! You’ve never let me down and I know you won’t this time.

We are starting a new online multimedia project to celebrate the scenic beauty and cultural traditions across North Carolina. I need two things from you:

1) an umbrella name for this project and

2) ideas on where we should go and what we should cover

We will give three of my CDs “I Am a River,” “Peaceful Journey,” and “Christmas in Carolina” to the winning entry for the name of the project. We would like something sweet and snappy.

We begin today with a beautiful slide show put together by WRAL Multimedia Producer Nathan Clendenin who captured the beauty and charm of Grandfather Mountain, Valle Crucis and surrounding areas.

You can look forward to many more presentations like these in the future and have a chance to determine the destinations!

Hello Bill. I am glad we still have some NATIVE North Carolinians out there who are as estatic about where they were born and raised as I am. And I love Lorica! Here are some ideas for slogans: "A Journey through Paradise...North Carolina" "North Carolina; Beauty behind every face" "A Southern Slice of Paradise; North Carolina" "From Moon Pies to High Rises, A Stroll through North Carolina"

I think you should try to cover every square inch of this magnificent state! Being that would probably be impossible..I would go off the beaten path..to towns and crossroad communities (at least the ones that haven't got asphalted over...) that no one every does stories on. This my sound far fetched, but at least one place for every county. Each section of this state has its on rich history and southern dialect, but we all have the God-given gift to be called North Carolinians. I think a big section of this documentary should focus on our state's rich agricultural past as well as were we are today in that area. Remember, when you want the best, its Got to be NC Agriculture!
