It is a wimpy winter. My co-anchors love it. I don't. I do like putting on my shorts and taking a nice long and comfortable run like I did yesterday. I do like the thought of a lower natural gas bill especially after the outrageous bill I received for December. But I miss scenes like the one captured in this photograph by Bill Robertson.
Nature needs to go to sleep just as we do. Sleep or death leads to rebirth. I worry about global warming. Several years ago I drew Greg Fishel’s name for a gag gift at a Christmas party. I gave him an orange stamped “grown in North Carolina” and a warped 33RPM album of Vivaldi’s Four Seasons.
Global warming could bring devastating changes to our coast as chronicled in the WRAL documentary “Line in the Sand.”
