There's a Valentine's Day treat awaiting you tonight in Franklin County. The von Trapp Children, the great-grandchildren of Captain von Trapp, father of the famous singing family whose story captivated the world in the musical The Sound of Music, are coming to the Louisburg College Auditorium on 8 p.m.

The von Trapp children are Sofia, age 16; Melanie, age 14; Amanda, age 13; and Justin, age 10. They have inherited the family's exceptional musical gift and love of singing. The children have attracted rave reviews and sold-out concert performances around the world, beginning with a 1997 celebration of their grandparent's 50th wedding anniversary.

With the light joyfulness of youth, The von Trapp Children perform a variety of vocal music: classical, sacred music, folk songs from various European and American traditions, and some beloved pieces from The Sound of Music. The children have compiled an extensive repertoire of music, and in singing together as a family, they have created a unique sound. Musicians and listeners of all ages recognize them for their beautiful harmonic blend and pristine tone.

Tickets are available for tonight's performance by calling the Louisburg College Box Office at (919) 497-3300 (local) or toll-free at 1–866-773-6354. Tickets may also be purchased at the door. Tickets are sold on a first-come, first-served basis, and seats are not reserved.

Louisburg College has a wonderful auditorium and I highly recommend tonight's show.
