I know. I know. I have this thing about Edenton. It is one of my all time favorite places. In fact I have written a song about this historical town and it will be a part of my new CD "I Am a River" scheduled for release in October. Edenton is our weekend getaway because of all of the neat things going on there the next few days. Locals call it the Swing into Spring Festival. The centerpiece is the Decorators’ Showcase. This event features rooms and yards in some of Edenton’s historic houses. Local designers have worked their magic on these homes. You will also enjoy the Garden Conservancy Open Days Program highlighting 6-designed gardens including the Cupola House. Other weekend highlights include “Tea and Flea” on the grounds of the historical Iredell House and “May Play Day” where families can enjoy games, entertainment, crafts and fun. It's a lot easier to get to Edenton these days with the complete of the 64 bypass. Bed & breakfast is the way to go if you can find a room. The Lord Proprietor's Inn, Granville Queen Inn and the Trestle House Inn are all excellent. You will love Edenton's beautiful setting by Albemarle Sound.
