Hometown Hello

Have you heard the big news? We’re expanding WRAL’s Morning News on Fox 50 beginning Monday August 28. We will broadcast local news and all of the big national and international stories along with traffic and weather from 7:00AM to 9:00AM. We’re adding some neat features to the second hour including a segment called Hometown Hello. Please help us out. Nominate your hometown and give me several interesting facts about your community and Elizabeth Gardner and I will feature your town on the air. For example, you might nominate Oxford and say something about the town’s tobacco history, nearby monastery and famous natives including Jeff Gravley. Elizabeth and I love gathering neat factoids about all of the communities in our viewing area. Elizabeth picks up all sorts of ideas from her weather work. My collection goes back to my childhood days and when I was the roving Tar Heel Traveler and Spirit of Carolina reporter for WRAL TV. It will be fun to share what all of us have come up with.
