Thanks for your many emails on various blogs. I appreciate your suggestions and questions. Charlene wrote me yesterday asking if I could recommend some fun places across the state for children. Over the next few days I will post some ideas. We'll start with the autumnal theme. October is a great time for family visits to farms where you will find pumpkin patches, hayrides and corn mazes. Two of my favorite fall destinations are Hill Ridge Farms in Youngsville and the Vollmer Farm in Bunn. Their fall activities run the gamut from train rides, fish feeding and gem stone panning to pumpkin slingshots, beehive observatories and cow milking.
