Fall Colors

Posted Updated

How many of you are traveling to the mountains this month to observe the turning of the leaves? Where will you go to see the spectacular colors?   I would like to leave this blog open to comments on the best places to go.

I'm planning to take a route recommended by author Carolyn Sakowski who wrote Touring the Western North Carolina Backroads. Carolyn has crafted almost two dozen trips embracing both the beauty and history of the mountains. I am going to try the route that begins in Roaring Gap and descends to Stone Mountain and then winds up in Doughton Park along the Blue Ridge Parkway. I will let you know how things go. I promise to take lots of pictures as well.

For those of you who live in the mountains please keep us posted on the fall colors
