Boot Camp Bill

What is your favorite exercise routine? What really works for you in terms of satisfaction and fitness? Feel free to share your stories.

I’ve started a 12 week program we’ve dubbed Boot Camp Bill. Once a week I get together with personal trainer and registered dietitian Tara Wind at The Performance Academy in Apex for an intense hour long workout. The term “boot camp” certainly doesn’t conjure up positive images for most people but I’ve really enjoyed the early stages of the regimen. The hour flies by and I really feel like I’m getting an awesome workout. Plus, it’s anything but boring. You’re always moving on to something new.

So far Boot Camp Bill has included sprints, sled pushes and pulls, tractor tire flips, and old-fashioned pull-ups. I will keep you posted on how things are going.  Special thanks to photographer Jeff Reeves for documenting the workout and even doing some rounds himself!

How are your workouts going?

Oh yes, Athletic Lab in Cary has even more to offer! The CrossFit training is done under the supervision of world-class training specialists, several times a day, several times a week. I am concern seeing that BOSU ball in the background in this video. The Athletic Lab taught me that unstable surface training does not work.

You should go to Athletic Lab in Cary. The owner is a PhD, has worked at all 3 Olympic Training Centers, and is an expert on speed!

Way to go Pops!! I went to a few Boot Camp classes prior to the wedding and though they were tough, loved them. This inspired me to get back at it!

Would love to be able to do this kind of workout, but the facilities are few and far between and are expensive, even though the equipment used is not.
