"Life is either a daring adventure or nothing."
Helen Keller
If it doesn't rain on Thursday, then the "5 Fighters" plan to go out in to the community in our first public campaign to boost awareness about the need to end this devastating disease.
We are a diverse group – the 5 of us – but we share a common goal of creating a world without breast cancer. To that end, we intend to get loud for awareness.
There are many ways we want to accomplish this goal. Over the weekend, we put our heads together and had a great deal of fun coming up with – shall I say – interesting – things to do to get your attention. I don't want to spill all the beans in this blog. Just know we're on fire about informing people about screening, prevention, men in the fight, and genetics.
First things first: If you're in the area of Crabtree Valley Mall in Raleigh, you'll see us Thursday morning. Weather permitting.
Sean, Janice, Brenna, Aolani and I are working on a huge poster that will call on drivers to get loud right along with us.
If you miss us, no worries. We're sure that between now and the NC Komen Race for the Cure on June 13th, you'll be clued in on how we're hoping to make a difference.
If you have any ideas on how the "5 Fighters" should get loud about awareness ... places we should take a stand ... events that need our presence ... please let us know by leaving your comments.
