"Humor is the sunshine of the mind." - Edward G. Bulwer-Lytton
The WRAL Weather team is forecasting a beautiful Saturday with lots of sunshine and blue skies.
Today, I learned that the "5 Fighters" are taking full advantage of this meteorological gift. We hope you're planning to get out there and have some fun, too.
Let me start with Brenna who is actually in Boston this weekend. The 113th Boston Marathon is Monday. No, Brenna's not running it. Don't get me wrong. She could definitely complete a marathon, but she is there to support and cheer on a client who's in the race.
Aolani is also on the road.. but she's staying closer to home. She's out to have some fun at Kings Dominion. Aolani says she's going to ride roller coasters and scream out all the stress she's weathered this week. It's a group trip and she says she use some of that travel time to network and talk "Komen".
Our man Sean is a new dad. He has his hands full, but he's going to squeeze out some time for some fun. Sean's going to take in all the international sights and sounds at the Turkish Festival going on at the NC State Fairgrounds in Raleigh. The young man's staying right at home.
Me too! I will be running in the St. Timothy's School Spring Sprint. It's a 5k race benefiting the Wake Med Pediatric Diabetes Program. It'll be a beautiful run through the North Hills Neighborhood. There will be hills. That is the one thing that doesn't excite me, but I'll soldier through it.
Last but not least... that diminutive dynamo Janice. I don't know she's doing. She and her family are ALWAYS up to something on the weekends. That woman could be at the beach or the mountains. I just can't say. Janice could not be reached for comment.
Whatever you decide to do this weekend, the 5 Fighters hope you have a happy and healthy good time!
