Police said three callers reported seeing a black bear in the Village Acres community on Thursday morning.

The first call came into police at 7:31 a.m., reporting a black bear around Spring Lake Road. Police said a second person claimed to have seen the bear on Adam's Circle in the same neighborhood around 10:30 a.m.

A third caller said a small black bear was on the wood line off Vernon Lane around 11:30 a.m.

Police sent out a reverse 911 call to residents of Village Acres, informing them of bear sightings in the area. The message asked residents not to approach the bear if they saw it or feed it and to bring trash cans inside.

A bear is just another wild animal. I'm not sure why it even makes the news.

Oftenbad, ya don't find too many grizzly or polar bears around here except for the zoo.

Actually, he was looking for his golf ball. He hit a 9 off the 7th. and it bounced off the cart path.

He's just trying to find his way back to hundred acre wood.

why it got to be a black bear?
