Shelter Employee Charged With Embezzlement

Whitakers, N.C. — A former employee of the Lake Country Animal Hospital in Roanoke Rapids has been arrested on charges she stole money from the shelter.

Callie Janell Franklin, of Whitakers, was placed under a $3000 bond and has a court date of April 2 in Halifax.
