In Memory of Honey

Honey, It's been one year since you broke my heart.
I would give anything to have you back here with me.
You brought me so much happiness.
You slept with me every single night.
As the years went by, you slept in, longer and longer, each day. Eventually, you'd sleep most of the day.
I miss your taps.
I miss your whining.
I miss you waiting outside the shower, for me to get out.
I miss seeing your leg prints on the bath mat, where you'd lay, while I took a shower.
I would always know by those marks, you had been there.
Sometimes, when I look in the backyard, I find myself trying to wish you there.
I would love to see you standing there, waiting for me.
You were such a gentle soul and you had the sweetest face.
Thank you for all the love you gave me. I miss you so much!
Do you have any idea how much I miss you?
This letter is for you and I want you to know I'll always love you.
I even had postage stamps made with one of your pictures on it.
Did you know that I write you notes with chalk, on the sidewalk, beside where you are?
You wouldn't understand, but it's very therapeutic for me.
Today I wrote a note in chalk to you, it reads: "Honey I miss you and I love you."
Thank you for coming into my life. If only it had been longer. My heart is broken and I can't stop the pain. I love you. I love you. I love you!
