Happy Holidays Everybody!
Wow, it’s been a while since I’ve written and I’m so sorry about that!
I’ve been really busy with appearances and training and my Facebook Fan Page and Tweeting and just being a puppy.
I’m finding out that I really, really, really like this time of year. People are nice to me all the time, but it seems like most everyone is really happy because of what Mommy told me are the “holidays."
There’s Thanksgiving (yum…I got me some turkey) and Hanukah and Christmas and Kwanzaa and people celebrating a lot.
I was in two, yes TWO, Christmas parades myself!
In the Raleigh Christmas parade, I got to ride on the WRAL float with my friends from work and it was so cool to hear people along the way call my name. I’m working on my wave, but I think it was OK just to smile at everyone. I have pretty teeth. Anyway, I even got to see my good friend Wool E. Bull again and give him a little puppy love. He looked so nice in his blue Christmassy uniform.
And then I also got to be in the Rolesville Christmas parade with big sis Lillie and our friend Amy and that was smaller, but still a whole lotta fun! Ms. Renee Chou was the “grand marshal” and I got to walk along right behind her. Hey, I was even ahead of the Rolesville mayor, so that’s good, right? All the people in Rolesville are so nice…I really liked Ms. Jenny Rowe…she does a lot for our little town. AND! I got to meet Santa Claus! I LOVED his red suit and his hat and he laughed a lot and all the kids wanted to talk to him and tell him what they want for Christmas. I hope they get what they ask for.
My mom says times are tough for some families right now. And she said that a lot of puppies and kitties don’t have homes anymore so the shelters are taking in more and more of my furry friends. I sure hope Santa brings them a new home this year. I created some art work for the Wake County SPCA and they sold it at their fundraiser a couple of weeks ago…so maybe that will help some of the cuddly animals there. I try to do my part to help!
So, that’s some of what I’ve been doing.
I’ve been training, too, with Ms. Christie and the other good folks at Teamworks Dog Training. Mom says they are now my “official” trainers and well, that’s what I thought all along, but OK. I think they “get” me and understand my B-I-G personality (as Mommy calls it) and know what to do to keep me from being bad. I mean, I know I’m not a bad puppy, but sometimes I get so worked up that I do things that aren’t necessarily good.
They say I am now a precocious teenager and that I need a “job” to keep me occupied and out of trouble. They have me working in agility stuff (l love the tunnel!) and working on new tricks and I guess I get paid for this “job” with yummy treats and pats on the head. It’s all good to me! I hope I can go to work with Mom one day this week and show my TV family some of the new tricks.
Mom wouldn’t let me come to work today cause the newsies had a “Holiday Eat-a-thon”. That’s what Mommy called it. An “Eat-a-thon”. Gosh, is there anything better? Where you get to eat all day? And I didn’t get to go?!?!?!?! I would have been glad to eat their food all day. Oh. Wait a minute. Maybe that’s why I didn’t get to go. Shucks. Mom is smarter that I think.
Well, maybe next year I can go cause I’ll be bigger and better behaved. I bet that’s what Mom and Dad and Morgan and Lillie hope Santa brings them…a good little Tracker in 2010! We’ll see!
Merry Christmas!
