Barking points: WRAL's dog blog

Hi! I'm WRAL's newsroom dog. I spend most of my work day sleeping in my mom's office, when I'm not getting petted and walked by my newsroom pals. I will also be featured on some upcoming WRAL-TV and WRAL.com segments.

I'm a big dog now

Hi Folks!

WOW. It’s been a while since I updated you here. If you’re on my Facebook fan page then you kinda know what I’ve been up to. I’ve been busy and Mommy says growing like a weed! I weigh 52 pounds now and I think my tail weighs 50 of those pounds. Haha! Not really, but it is pretty big! So, let’s see, what have I been doing…hmmmm…well, you know I was at the State Fair. It was so great to see all of you who came out to see me. I really liked the treats and gifts you brought me too. Y’all are so nice. Mom and Dad said they enjoyed meeting folks too and hearing stories about your pets. Ms. Christie kept me pretty busy while I was there so I wouldn’t try to run off or grab some little kid’s hot dog or ice cream cone. I couldn’t believe all the smells at that place! I thought my nose was gonna fall off it smelled so many different foods and people and stuff. And the nice people from the Ag Department (whatever that is, Mommy told me to say that, I just know they were very nice) gave me rides on a golf cart everyday so I wouldn’t have to walk through all the nice people…I mean somedays there were more people there than in I’ve ever seen in my whole life! So a big THANK YOU to Dr. Carol and Dr. Karen and Ms. Andrea. And thank you to the nice parking guys (one of them kept telling me to bite Greg Fishel, but gosh, I couldn’t do that I’d get in big trouble and have to go to time out!) and the nice Troopers who helped me cross the street and the nice tent ladies…I just felt like a big star… like Debra Morgan or Pam Saulsby or somebody! Haha! And I’m just a pup from the SPCA who was lucky enough to get the best job a doggie could have. So, I was pretty pooped after the fair, but I still get to go to Doggie Dayschool and I started a new training class. I’m running through tunnels and jumping on tables and I even get on a tippy table. Ms. Joanne and Ms. Christie noticed that there are certain things I don’t really “like” to do and they think it might be because it hurts me a little bit. They told Mom and she took me to see Dr. Jodi who kind of felt my hips and legs and said, yeah, I might have a little something going on there. SO! I get to go back to see her this week and it’s kind of like a hospital visit cause she has special x-ray vision but she can’t look at me when I’m awake cause you know I won’t be still long enough. Mommy says not to worry though, cause whatever it is, Dr. Jodi can take care of it and I’ll be good as new in no time. In the meantime, I’m going for short walks and training a lil’ bit and resting when I need to. I’ll let you know how it goes. Oh yeah! And check out the picture of me in my very first Halloween costume. I tried to BEEEEE good about it, but I gotta tell you, I didn’t like it one bit! Mommy thought I was “so cute”, but I’m a big dog and I don’t do cute. Well, OK, I guess I do, but I have to at least act like I don’t like it. Haha! Yeah, I’m a tough guy.

See ya!
