Dear Miss Fifi:
Why does the world insist on using the term, "hawk's eye," when referring to great vision? Why don't they say, "Robin's eye"? I've got terrific vision, and I'm not a big bully.

Dear Rosie:
Um ... Miss Fifi is firmly planted on the ground, so at least you can be thankful for the sweeping view you must have of the world. That said, I suppose the bird's eye view phrases favor hawks and eagles because they're predators and have binocular vision. It's sort of gross, but at the same time sort of cool—each eye can see an object at the same time, so they're able to tell how far away something is.
You may have a robin's eye view, but have you got binocular vision?
