This week's winning pet photo is the happy tale of two rescue dogs fortunate enough to have their happily ever after with a great family of humans.
Ginger is a yellow Lab mix who's around three years old. Two year old Sampson is somewhat of a Heinz 57 dog, suspected to have some Lab, Chow and Boxer in him. And according to the Santala family of Knightdale, this dynamic duo is both happy ... and inseparable.
"Sampson is more laid back than Ginger," said Karen Santala, matriarch of the two- and four-legged clan. "His whole body moves when he wags his tail, though. Ginger has an endless amount of energy. When Sampson joined our family, it was the best thing for Ginger."
Miss FIfi is pleased to note that both dogs are hams, and happy with attention from anyone who'll give it. "They spend their day playing, sunning on the deck, taking walks together, and swimming in the pond during the summer months."
And though it pains Miss Fifi to report that Sampson has a cat named Roxy and Ginger has a cat named Cleo, it is nice to know that these two dogs are happy and healthy ... and that they have a place to call home and a family to call their own.
