Oh, woofers and readers, Miss Fifi has a delightful tail for you today. This week's Pet Photo contest winners are Remington and Bo Ford, and it was an honor getting to know a bit more about these two active canines. According to their humans, Laney and Michael Ford, "Our babies are the sweetest boys in the world!"
Remington, the yellow lab, "is the oldest, tallest and goofiest of the two," said Laney. "He's getting a little slower in his old age and is developing arthritis—but his heart is still as young and sweet as when he was a puppy."
By contrast, Bo Browing, the chocolate lab, is full of life. "It's really a miracle, thinking back to the start of his life," Laney said. "You see, Bo was a rescue litter from a hunting club. The hunters found his mother and 13 puppies in the woods. Though his mother didn't make it, nor did seven of Bo's siblings, Bo and five others lived. I offered to foster Bo for a weekend and ended up falling in love with him and keeping him."
These labs love to be outdoors, and are extremely active. They love the beach, especially swimming in the ocean and playing in the sand. Laney told Miss Fifi that she and Michael recently purchased a home in Morehead City especially for their beloved dogs ... though the boys are happy to share their space.
One parting thought from Laney and her happy family from Clayton: "Pets are so important to people and add so much to life,
and I am glad that WRAL gives proud parents like me a place to display their "babies".
Well, Laney and Michael, Miss Fifi appreciates knowing there are pet lovers and caregivers like you in the world, who give us pets a safe place to call home ... and someone to love and share it with. Woof!
