Good Books for Beagles?

Dear Miss Fifi:

My family is taking a trip next week to Savannah, GA. The human kids have been getting their car activity bags together, and my little boy has been talking to his mom about which books he can bring along to read out loud to me. You see, most of the time I love a car trip ... but after about six hours I'm ready to break out of my crate and howl. Do you have any suggestions for which books I can nose off the bookshelf while he's at school?

What an excellent question. Miss Fifi is an avid reader, and my tastes cover a wide variety of topics. Now, you mentioned your "little boy," so I'm assuming your human boy is young ... here's a few young reader selections that have been my favorites over the years.
