Striking a pose...

Hi! I'm WRAL's newsroom dog. I spend most of my work day sleeping in my mom's office, when I'm not getting petted and walked by my newsroom pals. I will also be featured on some upcoming WRAL-TV and WRAL.com segments.

I'm a big dog now

Hi Folks!

WOW. It’s been a while since I updated you here. If you’re on my Facebook fan page then you kinda know what I’ve been up to. I’ve been busy and Mommy says growing like a weed! I weigh 52 pounds now and I think my tail weighs 50 of those pounds. Haha! Not really, but it is pretty big! So, let’s see, what have I been doing…hmmmm…well, you know I was at the State Fair. It was so great to see all of you who came out to see me. I really liked the treats and gifts you brought me too. Y’all are so nice. Mom and Dad said they enjoyed meeting folks too and hearing stories about your pets. Ms. Christie kept me pretty busy while I was there so I wouldn’t try to run off or grab some little kid’s hot dog or ice cream cone. I couldn’t believe all the smells at that place! I thought my nose was gonna fall off it smelled so many different foods and people and stuff. And the nice people from the Ag Department...

I'm a puppy school graduate

Hi Everybody!

Have ya missed me? I’ve been very busy and just have so much to share. I did graduate from puppy school at Teamworks and got my STAR puppy achievement. Yay me! Ms. Christie even gave me sort of a pre-test for Canine Good Citizen and she said I did really really good for a pup! I had a little trouble focusing when Dad brushed me, but we’ve been working on that this week so I’m doin’ better. And going to Doggie Dayschool has helped me with recall, and walking on my leader, and just being an all-round good puppy. I can’t wait to start my next class…I get to do agility stuff! Woo hoo! I like having a job to do. Being the newsroom doggie is a great job, but since they won’t let me write the news or read the news on TV, I need something else to keep me busy. I tried destroying stuff around the newsroom, but they didn’t think that was a good job for me either. LOL! Sometimes people in the newsroom can be so uptight....

Fun times at AKC event

Hi Friends!

Wow, did I have a G-R-E-A-T weekend! The weather was kind of icky, but I did get some good outside time. And I had the bestest time Saturday at the AKC Responsible Dog Ownership Day event at the fairgrounds. Woo-wee there were a lot of doggies and their pets, I mean humans, there! I saw big doggies (one weighed 240 pounds!) and little-bitty doggies and they were all very nice and well-behaved. Probably better behaved than me! LOL! It was a lot to take in for a pup like me, but I think I did pretty good. I loved meeting everyone (especially the little humans) and I’m really happy my trainer, Ms. Christie, was there cause she helped keep me focused and not get so distracted. Apparently focus is a big thing for doggies. At least, that’s what humans think. But Ms. Christie had a whole bunch of that yummy string cheese and I can ALWAYS focus on that. And my Mom and Dad got real excited cause the nice lady from the AKC, Ms. Deb, told them that I can...

It has been an adventurous week

Hi Folks!

Wow, this week has flown by! I’ve been so very busy and I’ve only gotten into a lil’ bit of trouble. LOL! Mom and Dad have been working with a gentle leader on me and I don’t like it one bit. I fight it and everybody I run into I go up against them and try to rub it off. I even managed to chew through one. My trainers think it is the best thing for me though, even over the easy harness. I guess they know what they are doing because I am less mouthy and rambunctious with the leader on. You know I like to pull on my leash and I can be a bit stubborn about ending play time with my doggie friends or going in my little kennel when I’m supposed to. But hey! If I did everything everybody wanted me to do every time, what would they have to do!?! So, I’m doing pretty good with my training and I love my trainers. They are soooooo patient with me. And they give me lots of good treats. Yummy! I had a little adventure this week too....

I got all my work done in a half a day

Hi Everybody!

Well, it’s Friday and that makes everyone around here really happy!

I came into work today for only a half day and that made ME really happy.

I was so excited to see my WRAL family that I got a little over-excited and didn’t quite know how to calm myself.

I snatched some papers from Cullen Browder and grabbed a hair curler out of Erin Coleman’s bag [today was her last day at WRAL and we’re real sad about that, but happy for her] and chewed up some papers Mommy needed for a meeting and the next thing I know, Dad is at the front of the building to take me home. How does he know when I need him?!?!

But before Dad came to get me I got to be on LIVE@ with my good buddy Brian Shrader! He is so nice. He helped Mom give me cheese…yummy my favorite thing…and talked mostly to her, but I made sure everyone knew I was there. You could check it out on WRAL.com, but those silly Web editors said there were...
