Raleigh -- The Capital City

Given its location in the center of the state, Raleigh can simply be called the heart of North Carolina. This city’s echoing beat originates in its pedestrian Capitol Square. Not only is this cluster of blocks the seat of the state’s governmental offices, it is the busy home of the North Carolina Museum of History, North Carolina Museum of Natural Sciences, and the City Market boasting fabulous restaurants, superb shopping and the thought-provoking art of local artisans.
