Friendly, peaceful and growing

Fuquay-Varina is a perfect blend of old and new. While it is quickly becoming a lively bedroom community for those who commute to the Triangle, this alluring town has done a splendid job of retaining its rich, yesteryear quaintness.

Located in southern Wake County, Fuquay- Varina requires only a half hour drive to reach North Carolina’s State Capitol, RDU International Airport, and the worldrenowned Research Triangle Park. But a journey might not even be necessary because more than 20 major manufacturers and corporations including John Deere and Tyco/Raychem are nestled within its city limits. And when its time to wind down from a hard week’s work, the sound of crashing waves can be heard within a few hours and the views from mountain peaks can uplift you after a short scenic journey.

This vibrant community packs quite the wallop into its eight square miles. Two towns merged four decades ago and brought with them a number of interesting historic structures, including several tobacco warehouses and majestic Victorian, Craftsman and Colonial Revival homes. Town planners are busy bringing history to life by revitalizing Broad Street and South Main Street. With their brick-accented sidewalks, lampposts and wrought-iron benches, thriving businesses proudly remind us of the quaint charm found in beautiful southern towns like Fuquay- Varina.

Known for its friendliness and serenity, this town has just enough hustle and bustle to maintain a lively community. New and carefully planned development is providing wonderful neighborhoods interweaved with award-winning schools and an abundance of recreational areas, including tennis courts, baseball and soccer fields, wide swaths of green space for special events, and trails for walking, running and biking.

Put down some roots in a welcoming community where lovely natural surroundings make down-to-earth living simple and satisfying. Energy, vitality, character and history... they’re all right here in Fuquay-Varina!
