Greening the Generations

Billy and Greg are trying to figure out what 'green' really means. Billy Warden carries the flag for Gen X and runs Billy Warden Communications & Imagination Group (www.billywarden.com). Greg Behr champions Gen Y and heads up Figurative Hats Consulting (get it, heads and hats?).

Obama Inauguration

Obama's getting to work, so can you...

BILLY: I'm so inspired by the inauguration, I want to get to work! On something important! Just like the prez!

GREG: Well, there's that compost pile I've been offering to help you create.

BILLY:
Actually thinking less compost, more connections ... with smart, motivated folks and a topic like renewable energy. On Feb. 3, the NC Sustainable Energy Association invites one and all to a conference called "Making Energy Work: Building a Sustainable Energy Economy in the Southeast." Hundreds of folks are coming with big ideas. (Check out N.C. Sustainable Energy) I'm hopeful I'll even comprehend a few of them!

GREG: I'm down with that. But if you miss it or want something a little different but still sustainable, jump all over the Institute for Emerging Issues' two day extravaganza, Feb. 9-10, "Changing Landscapes: Building the Good Growth State?"

Check out the Institute for Emerging Issues: With speakers ranging from Senator Chris Dodd to NY Times writer David Brooks to the former mayor of London, Ken Livingstone, Emerging Issues is the premier event for conversations important to our state.

BILLY:
Ooooorrr go global! The Redwoods Group just sent employees and Elon University professors to Zambia to build homes with Habitat for Humanity.

GREG: If you can't join'em in person, you (can experience their amazing blog posts.)

BILLY: To return closer to home, the Triangle Community Foundation is making it even easier to connect with nonprofits doing the kind of work that interests and motivates YOU. Get your giving groove on at TriangleGivesBack.org

GREG: And don't forget to drop by Billy's backyard this weekend for Compost-stock '09! He can run, but he can't hide!

Questions.....

A) What has Barack Obama actually DONE?

B) Why the sudden interest in helping our communities? Why weren't you doing it before?

C) Plenty of us have been working on renewable energy resources for years. What has changed that you want to get involved all of a sudden?

D) Chris Dodd should be IN JAIL for the fiasco he and Barney Frank created with the mortgage situation. Read up on it.
