Pi Day—March 14— is a big deal around my house, especially since it's my son's birthday. He shares it with Albert Einstein, a fact he's especially fond of telling. This year, he hit double digits, which is exciting for him, and bittersweet for me and the mister.
But since Daffodils are the flower for March, my husband always makes sure to bring me a big bouquet to brighten the day.
We harvest the Daffodils from our garden and from our next door neighbors, who have thousands of them around, and put them in lovely vases around our house. I love to supplement them with other flowers from the garden, and am generally pleased with whatever's in bloom. It's kind of exciting to walk through the gardens until we hit the jackpot.
This year, I trimmed a couple of blooms from our Saucer Magnolia, the Bradford Pear, some pink tulips, a vibrant red Camelia, and some purple Grape Hyacinth's.
