Well, we did our part last night in the quest for snow ... we set out the ol' Flexible Flyer on the porch. It's pretty much our signal to Mother Nature that we're a Go for Snow.
With yesterday's weather forecasting a wintry mix, we spent time last night getting the garden ready. Now, in the light of day it's clear that we were far, far from blizard conditions, but I"m still glad we were prepared.
Here's my quick list of winter weather garden prep:
- Move the rocking chair cushions into the garage
- Clean up all of our loose tools from around the garden and put them in the shed
- Move garden art to the front porch (it can get covered and then stepped on in a big snow)
- Cover the camellias and other fragile plants (not such a big concern this year since the drought pretty much took care of that)
- Sweep off the walkways, sidewalk and driveway
What do you do to get your garden ready for snow and ice?
