Posted — UpdatedCHAPEL HILL, N.C. — The North Carolina Institute of Medicine’s Adolescent Health Task Force wants a more comprehensive driver’s education program and more funding for school-based health services.
The task force released its final report on adolescent health Tuesday at a summit at the Carolina Inn in Chapel Hill.
The group also wants to include substance abuse and mental health services and expand prevention programs for teen pregnancy and sexually transmitted diseases.
The task force focuses on improving the health of young people between 10 and 20 years old.
