Brandon Constantineau, 18, of Wilmington, has experienced symptoms of schizophrenia since he was in elementary school. Constantineau and his doctors at the University of North Carolina have struggled to find the right balance of old and new drugs to treat to his disease with side effects, including dramatic weight gain.
