The Cary Children’s Concert Choir and Cary Youth Chorale will hold auditions for new members on Aug. 30.

Membership in the Cary Children’s Concert Choir is open to children from grades three through six. Students in grades seven through nine can participate in the Cary Youth Chorale. No prior singing experience is necessary.

The mission of the Cary Children’s Concert Choir, now in its twelfth year, and the three-year-old Cary Youth Chorale is to provide kids with the skills and experiences needed to make music all their lives.

During the auditions, each child will be asked to sing a simple song in several musical keys and do some basic rhythm work. The audition is structured so that the artistic staff will get an idea of the child’s level of experience and ability to sing as a part of the group. The team works to make the process as easy as possible.

Both choirs perform several times during the fall concluding with a performance in December.
