Kids needed for video to support Cary's proposed children's museum

The quick video shoot would support the group's efforts to apply for a grant to raise money to build the museum.

Organizers for the proposed Cary children's museum are looking for kids to come out and shout their support for the project on Saturday.

The Downtown Cary Children's Museum is applying to participate in the Pepsi Refresh Challenge in September. to raise money to build the project. Plans call for a museum that would cater to toddlers to school-aged children and focus on science, technology, engineering and math. Plans for the project are less than a year old, but if all goes as planned, organizers hope to open in 2013. Read more about it all in an earlier post.

As part of the application, the group needs a one-minute video. Kids of all ages are needed to participate. The group will be gathering at 4 p.m. Saturday in the Fidelity Bank Courtyard in downtown Cary across from Ashworth Drugs at the intersection of Academy and Chatham streets. There will be a quick introduction to the museum project. At the end, all the kids will say together for the video, "help build our kids' museum!"

The video will be posted on YouTube. Photo releases for parents to sign will be available on Saturday.
