There's a new consignment sale in Dunn.

Go Bananas Kids Consignment will be held from Aug. 11 to Aug. 14 at the Dunn National Guard Armory, 901 Susan Tart Rd. Two moms, who both work with kids too, are behind the sale.

Kara Acree and Tonya Peterson knew each other from work, but became friends while volunteering together at another children's consignment sale. Acree tells me that while sorting clothes at the sale, the two brainstormed the idea of doing their own. They both had shopped at consignment sales for about five years and have enjoyed shopping, volunteering and consigning at other sales, both large and small. They especially love finding high quality clothes and toys for their own kids at a fraction of the retail cost.

The two decided to start a sale in Dunn because there were no sales in Harnett County and it's close to where they live and work.

The sale will be open to the public from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m. Aug. 12; 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Aug. 13; and 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Aug. 14 (when some items are half off). Check the Go Bananas website for all the details about buying and selling items at the sale.
