Baby Steps: Progress

We have a plan. It isn’t much, but it’s written down and something about that just makes it so – real.

My husband and I are going to give in vitro a try. We made the decision not because adoption was unattractive; nor because we just couldn’t possibly live happily as a couple without children. The final factor (of the many, many, many considered) was – this is the right time. We are young and healthy and our chances of success are highest now. If we wait, those chances only diminish. On the contrary, some of our other options will still be available and not tend so much to decrease with time. You know what they say — timing is everything.

So we have a calendar with key dates marked … and I have a prescription for birth control. Sounds crazy right? Turns out, the fertility docs want total control of my hormones before they go messing around with what’s going on inside. It seems birth control pills are the best way to do it. I’m having a little flashback. I haven’t been on the pill for years!

Here’s to making some progress!

Thanks for coming along for the ride and I hope you’ll stick with us as it starts to get interesting...

Good Luck!!

In the comments of one of your previous posts someone put a link to a blog (http://www.ohhappymiracle.com). I checked it out and ended up going back and reading it from her very first entry. I am now and avid follower. I emailed her a question which she quickly responded to, even being a brand new mommy. I highly recommend her blog to you and anyone else going through infertility. She has a happy and healthy 6 week old to prove that good things can happen.

good luck!

good luck. just know it will work.

Good luck Christine! If you have not already given this some thought, I highly recommend you include acupuncture with your IVF (check out Triangle Acupuncture - http://triangleacupunctureclinic.com/). They work with some clinics in the area, Carolina Conceptions being one of them, and acupuncture is proven technique for improving your IVF odds even more. Good luck!!

Christine best of luck to you both! My husband and I struggled with infertility. We are now proud parents of 2 beautiful little girls and I owe it all to Dr. Rose Glynne womens health of rocky mount and Dr.Grace Couchman at Carolina Conceptions. You will never regret it because no matter what you gave it your all and still have options...... best of luck to you both

good luck!

You won't regret your decision Christine! I just did IVF (I believe at the same clinic you are going to - CC) in May and am expecting a baby in February. It's actually a relatively easy process - the hardest part for me was not being able to exercise after the horomone stimulation starts. Everyone's different, but I think bloating is to be expected, so you probably won't feel your best! :) The doctors and nurses at CC are wonderful and will answer absolutely any questions you have - don't be afraid to ask those that you may think are "dumb!" Good luck with everyone and we can't wait to get an update from you!

Best of luck to you and your husband! I'll be watching for updates.
