Brittney Switala, the mom of two in Wake Forest, was the very lucky winner of our Month of Mom makeover contest. And it's been such a pleasure to get to know her over the past few weeks!
Switala won a big prize - personal styling from style consultant and local mom Michele Little of One Chic Mama; hair and makeup from Glam Lounge in Raleigh; and a $40 store credit at Dress, a women's boutique with high-end consignment and new clothing and accessories.

When we got to her, Switala, a brunette, had a closet with clothes that once matched her hair color when she went through a "red stage," as she calls it, and pieces she'd worn pre-baby that really didn't fit with her lifestyle anymore.

As Little reminds us in the video interview, we need to "dress for our body right now," not the one we once had or the one we wished we had.

Switala also was looking for a look that was comfortable, but also classy enough to go out at night. Some of you might know her as the drive home host from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. on the Raleigh-based Christian radio station His Radio 88.5 FM. She also is voice talent for Yours and His Productions and a monthly contributor for the Manna Christian newspaper.

She mostly works from home. So she needs that extra push to dress in something other than shorts and sneakers. And she makes public appearances too as part of her job at His Radio.

"Looking your best is important to me being in the public eye like that," said Switala, who has a six-year-old son and 12-year-old daughter and whose husband attends and works at Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary in Wake Forest.

Little traveled to Switala's home and went through her closet with her piece by piece, removing the ones that no longer worked for her and taking them with her. Switala was glad to see them go.

"I learned a lot about myself," Switala says. "I thought my hips are too big, but Michele said 'you are an hour glass,' so she made my day!"

Then they went to Dress on Glenwood Avenue near Hillsborough Street in Raleigh, where they found a black, pleated skirt to go with the patterned tops Switala already has in her wardrobe.

That's where I caught up with Switala, Little and Pam Mullaney, owner of Dress (which will be moving to the Ridgewood Shopping Center on Wade Avenue in Raleigh next to Whole Foods in early August).

Learn more about Switala's transformation and hear what Little suggested for her in the video. And stay tuned for her after shot at Glam Lounge on Tuesday.

Thank you to One Chic Mama and Dress for their participation!
