My personal trainer, Anthony, is not on Twitter. So, I thought I was safe to talk about a few of the cheat foods I enjoy every now and then.

Working in this newsroom is part of the reason I gained weight. We always have snacks lying around. Most of the time, I avoid the doughnuts, cookies, cakes and other items floating around. A few weeks ago, I had a moment of weakness.

A tray of very appetizing brownies was sitting at the assignment desk. When I looked beneath the aluminum foil, I noticed that only one was left. I had to have it. I inhaled it.

That was the best brownie I have ever had. I have no idea where it came from or who made it, but I was in heaven.

I tweeted about the brownie, telling my Twitter friends not to tell Trainer Anthony.

About a week later during one of our sessions, Anthony started quoting a few of my tweets. Then, he busted me on the brownie. Apparently, he decided to check up on me to see how I was doing and stumbled upon my Twitter page.

He knows that I need to have something bad once a week or else I’ll go crazy. I’m from New Orleans - all we do is eat!

It is difficult trying to find that balance between what he wants me to do (not eat anything bad) and what I want (occasionally eat something bad, but continue working out so I don’t blow up like a balloon.) I look at ingredients and nutritional facts on everything before I eat it, except for my once a week cheat food.

The conversation got me thinking about my favorite “cheat foods” – the items that you know you are going to have to hit the gym for a week to work off, but they are so good you can’t resist.

I allow myself one dessert a week. My husband and I share whatever it is, so it is only half the calories anyway.

My favorite cheat food is Reese's Peanut Butter Chocolate Cake Cheesecake at The Cheesecake Factory. The layers of chocolate cake combined with the gooey peanut butter and cheesecake …. joy in my mouth.

BUT, I can only eat that kind of dessert once a month and even then I have to share it. I don’t want to blow my diet completely!

What are your favorite cheat foods?
