Glam Lounge will make over a lucky Go Ask Mom reader later this month! But first they did hair and makeup for Mari Taylor, Go Ask Mom's Mom of Teens blogger. Here's her before shot.

Mari Taylor's two daughters are teens. And while that might mean they're much more self-sufficient than younger children, they still have to be carted around for activities and out the door for school by 6:15 a.m.

So that doesn't leave Taylor, author and Go Ask Mom's Mom of Teens blogger, much time to get ready in the morning. And, with a work at home job, she doesn't always feel the need to put on some makeup. In fact, for special events, she sometimes has her own 16-year-old daughter, a budding fashionista, do her eyes.

But Taylor wouldn't mind looking a bit more polished, especially when she's scheduled to speak to promote her book "Surviving Unemployment: Devotions to Go."
So I called in Glam Lounge, the Raleigh salon. Glam Lounge will be doing the hair and makeup for a lucky Go Ask Mom reader. The contest will launch on Thursday as part of our Month of Mom ... so keep your eye out for it! Our lucky grand prize winner will win the services from Glam Lounge; a consultation with Michele Little of One Chic Mama, who will find new outfits from the winner's existing wardrobe; and a $40 gift certificate to the Raleigh consignment boutique Dress where Michele will help the winner find accessories to spiff up what she already has.
Glam also is offering prizes for the runner-up and third winner along with some great deals for all Go Ask Mom readers. Click here for the details.

But let's start with Mari first. Watch the video to hear more about her style and what she's looking for. And stay tuned tomorrow to see the makeover!

Mari writes monthly for Go Ask Mom. Find her posts in the box above.
