A quick post to share that Chapel Hill is holding a youth summit from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Saturday at Carrboro High School, 201 Rock Haven Rd.

Rising eighth to 11th graders are invited to talk about things that concern them.

The summit theme is "From Inspiration into Action." There will be workshops and sessions on a variety of issues that affect youth in the Chapel Hill community, a free lunch and an opportunity to meet new people and share ideas.

The  event is part of the activities of the town's Youth Council, which offers young people a chance to share in local government matters and learn leadership skills; serve and represent Chapel Hill youth; and work with other groups.
