A quick reminder that Bookmarked! 2011, the two-week literary festival for kids continues this week with special storytimes and activities for kids.

They include storytimes on Tuesday at Marbles Kids Museum and Green Road Library; Wednesday at North Hills and the Wake Forest Branch Library; and Saturday at the N.C. Museum of Natural Sciences, Cameron Village Library and Quail Ridge Books. Click here for times and details. The events on Saturday at Quail Ridge and the natural sciences museum will feature award-winning author and illustrator Molly Bang.
And from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday, the event's Family Fun Concert will be at Fletcher Park in Raleigh and feature a reading by Ira David Wood III, executive and creative director of Theatre in the Park, and Betsy, star of PBS Kids’ Betsy’s Kindergarten Adventures. It's free, though a $5 per person or $15 per family donation is requested. Click here for details.
The event is part of the Lucy Daniels Center,. which provides mental health services to children up to age 11 in the Triangle. Lucy's Book Club is an outreach program that recommends books for different age levels to help kids recognize, label and explore their feelings. You can find the recommended books at local libraries and on the program's website.

The festival, now in its second year, aims to celebrate the joy of reading with young children, but also raise awareness and funding for Lucy's Book Club and the Lucy Daniels Center's Family Support Fund, which helps families pay for their children's mental health services at the center.
