The 19th annual Parade of Playhomes is back with your chance to get a playhome for your kids and help raise money to prevent child abuse.
The event, a project of the Home Builders Association of Durham, Orange & Chatham Counties, started Friday and runs through May 6 at the American Tobacco District Campus in downtown Durham. Four playhomes are on display. Beazer Homes, McNeill Burbank Homes, Toll Brothers and students from Southern High School in Durham each built a playhome.
Three playhomes will be raffled off and one will be auctioned online. All of the proceeds will be used in family outreach programs to prevent child abuse in the region. More than $100,000 has been raised by the fundraiser.
Raffle tickets are sold at locations across Durham, Orange and Chatham counties. Tickets are $3 for one or two for $5. You can also buy them online.
Check the website for details on where to buy tickets, the online auction, pictures of the playhomes (they are really cute!) and more.
