New preschool to open at Garner church this fall

Newhope Church's Garner campus will open a new preschool in the fall.

As I have been adding schools to our preschool database, I learned that a new preschool will open in Garner for the next school year.

Newhope Church's Garner campus will open hopekids in the fall. The half-day program will offer classes from 9 a.m. to noon or 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. depending on the age group. A typical school day will include center time, circle time, outdoor play, music, chapel, snack, a special activity, art and lunch.

There will be classes for one-year-olds to transitional kindergarten. Tuition ranges from $125 a month to $250 a month depending on the program.

The church is at 2967 Benson Rd. in Garner.

Newhope's Central campus in the Southpoint area of Durham has an existing preschool. The Garner campus' director, Denyse Oeltjenbruns, has 15 years experience as a classroom teacher and literacy specialist. She currently teaches third grade for Wake County Schools and has two preschool aged children of her own who will attend hopekids in the fall.
