A teacher noticed Jeanine Romeo's artistic talents when she was in grade school.

Her parents sent her to private art lessons and Romeo eventually studied art in college. For more than a decade, she worked as a textile designer, hand painting designs for high-end apparel companies in New York. She also freelanced for clients such as Disney, Warner Bros. and Nickelodeon, putting cartoon characters on sleepwear and other pieces.

But after her two children came along - a son, now 15, and a daughter, now 12 - she tired of the long commute to Manhattan and crazy schedule. She left her job and launched her own mural business.

She was her own first client, painting a scene behind her then young son's race car bed. She worked for friends and family and her business grew from there. Artrageous Art's services include murals, faux finishes, color consultation, artwork and more.
Romeo and her family moved to Cary four years ago where she has continued the business, painting everything from murals on businesses and schools, such as the Goddard School in Cary, which you'll see in the video, to homes. She does simple monograms  to elaborate designs.
And she has provided her services to local nonprofits, including April's Angels and Striving for More.

Art, she tells me, "always has been a part of my life."

Learn more about Romeo and see some of her work in the video. And check out her website for more information about what she offers.
