A quick note to share some details about a couple of events the YMCA of the Triangle has planned.
The first is Walk A Mile In Our Shoes at 6:30 p.m. April 5 at Y branches in Durham, Raleigh, Cary and Chapel Hill. The one-mile walks raises money to buy shoes for young people who don't have them. Participants in the YMCA's teen programs are working on the effort. They're looking for donations of gently used shoes in all sizes between now and April 10 and folks to participate in the walk. And kids in Durham can get involved in Lemonade Day from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. May 7. The Durham YMCAs and Fox 50 are sponsoring this free event that teaches children the skills it takes to start, own and operate a business. The goal is to sign up 1,000 kids.
