I'm sorry to report that PB&J Fun Factory on Fayetteville Road south of Raleigh is closing in March.
The store sells both arcade games and a wide range of toys, including Step 2 and Melissa & Doug. You'll find a variety of play kitchens and other toys that are great for creative play.
They've also had regular and very popular weekday events for toddlers and preschoolers on Tuesdays and Wednesdays and special events for older kids as well. I actually attended a toddler time about a week ago and was going to feature it on the site on Friday. It was a lot of fun. So I'm sad to see it go.
The store's toy inventory is being discounted. Right now, all products in the toy store are 30 percent off retail. The store's fixtures, displays and equipment also are for sale. The hours are 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Saturday. And its toddler time and craft hour are planned through the third week of March. Check the calendar for details.
The store owners plan to relocate a part of the business, the Brunswick Home Game Room Store, to a smaller location off Glenwood Avenue.
"It is extremely difficult to announce something of this nature, but we feel that this decision will help us serve our customers better and allow us to continue as a company," wrote owners Jonathan and Paula Culverhouse in a letter to the store's shoppers.
Check in on the store's Facebook page for updates over the next month.
