Just a quick reminder that the Wake library system's annual book sale starts on Thursday with more than 450,000 at bargain prices. You'll find both used and new books.

As I wrote last week, organizers have turned the sale into a festival with live performances Friday and Saturday and children's activities on Saturday. It runs Thursday evening through Sunday at the N.C. State Fairgrounds.

I'm thinking this is a great place to stock up on gifts and books for the summer. I'll also be buying some books to fill up the little vacation packs I put together to keep my kids busy on long trips and car rides. Just be sure to bring a check or cash - credit cards are not accepted.
