Lynda Loveland: Tables turned

A day doesn't go by that I don't get a good belly laugh from something my kids have done. Well, I learned the other day that we can sometimes be entertainment for our kids.

My partner, Bill Jordan, said something very profound to me one time. He said: “Kids are here for our entertainment.” And I thought, how true!

A day doesn’t go by that I don’t get a good belly laugh from something my kids have done. Well, I learned the other day that we can sometimes be entertainment for our kids.

My seven-year-old daughter is in her second year of Y Princesses. The last meeting was at our house. So everyone not involved had to scatter. I decided to make good use of my time and clean out my son’s drawers and closet during the meeting. About half way through the meeting, I heard laughter ring out downstairs. A pretty healthy dose of it.

After the meeting, I learned the hilarity ensued during my daughter’s presentation of the solar system. My husband told her he used a sentence for remembering the planets, My Very Enthusiastic Mother Just Sent Us Nine Plums. You know, Mars, Venus, Earth, etc…

My daughter apparently felt like she had to one up her dad. She came up with this: My Very Energetic Mother Just Sat Upon Nine Plums.

Nice.
