Poll: Are you watching 'American Idol?'

Posted February 3, 2011

Every year I say I will not watch "American Idol." And every year I get sucked in.

I don't watch every episode. I pop in and out of the season until the end. Then my husband finds something else to do for a few nights while I watch the last few shows. He is not a fan.

This season, all I've seen are a few clips. I seem to turn the TV on just as it's ending - a hazard of working at night I suppose. But with the new judges and a local contender, I plan on tuning in.

What about you? Vote in our poll.

Are you watching American Idol?

This season's American Idol has two new judges, no Simon and a teen from Garner vying for the title. Are you watching?

Yes! I love American Idol!
I've got better things to do.
I'll tune in from time to time.
I wasn't going to watch, but I'll probably get sucked in.

Steven Tyler is making it interesting....I love watching him on the show.

i did watch an episode of intervention once where the featured drug addict went out to audition for idol though. that was interesting. of course, A&E weren't allowed to film any of it, but she didn't make it.

i have never watched idol. just some of the clips i see on the soup make me cringe. i can't stand to see people put themselves out there for approval and get torn to bits by other people. it's not entertaining for me. even the ones who are constantly mocked as terrible, i can't stand listening to, so really the show holds zero appeal for me.

I haven't ever watched, and saw on FB/Twitter this morning, why. One of my favorite up and coming artists, Vienna Teng, had her song, "City Hall" butchered by a contestant last night. So, so grateful I didn't hear that.

I don't think we should idolize people just because they can sing. It's high time we valued smart innovative folks who work hard. Let the guy or gal who wins the science fair be famous for once.
