I'm happy to report that the Wachovia IMAX Theatre at Marbles Kids Museum, which has been closed for a few weeks for some major upgrades, is scheduled to reopen next week on time.

It will still be North Carolina's only giant screen at 70-feet wide and 50-feet tall. But it now also includes new state-of-the-art 3D IMAX projection system allowing the theater to show more of Hollywood's biggest feature films. There's also enhanced audio at 18,000 watts of heart-pounding sound (it previously was 12,000 watts). The seats are new and more comfortable. And there's new carpet.

The upgrades were entirely self-funded by IMAX ticket sales revenue and financing through the IMAX Corporation. No public dollars were used, I'm told.

The theater opens to the public next Wednesday. But there will be some private screenings on Tuesday. And you know what? I have five pairs of tickets for the 6:30 p.m. Tuesday private screening of The Ultimate Wave Tahiti 3D.

What do you need to do to enter to win one of these pairs of tickets? One or both of the following:

1. Follow WRALMoms on Twitter and tweet about the contest.

2. Answer the questions in the comments below: The Ultimate Wave Tahiti features surfing in Tahiti. What tropical destination do you wish you were at right now?

This contest ends at noon Jan. 30. Five winners will be picked at random from all entries. The winners' user names will be posted on this post by 9 p.m. Jan. 30 and an email will be sent to the winner. The winner must respond by noon Jan. 31 or a runner-up will be selected. Good luck!

And the winners are: @caitlin_melody and @icehouseyo on Twitter, plus cynth221, sllbfl517 and tooyv. You've all been emailed. Get back to me ASAP to claim your tickets!
